Kenneth Loftis, age 84 of Ozark, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in his home. He was born May 23, 1930 at Romance, Missouri the son of Rena (Welch) and Charlie Loftis.Ken was a longtime Christian County resident and enjoyed the rural farm life. He was a United States Army veteran and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was especially proud of his time in England and serving on the M.L. Hersey Ship. Ken was a retired engineer with Lily Tulip Corporation working there for 41 years and was a successful farmer. Kenneth was saved at Romance Baptist Church at the age of 23 and was a member of Victory Baptist Church for 22 years. He enjoyed going to church and playing music. He served God through his leadership as Sunday School Superintendent, song leader and his work with the building program.He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Kenneth is survived by his wife Dorothy; his children Denise Kucharski and husband Dean, Diane Morris and husband Earl; four grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren; one brother Marlin Loftis and Keith Thornton, who is like a son. The family would like to thank Preferred Hospice for their tender and loving care for Ken. He will be missed by his extended relatives and many friends. We will cherish his memories forever. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 15, 2014 in Barnes Family Home, Ozark with Pastor Bob Long and Jeremy Gilbert officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be Thursday evening 6:00 to 8:00p.m. in the funeral home.
