Walter S. Kuhne, age 85 of Ozark, went home to the Lord Saturday, October 1, 2016.  His mother, Edith, gave birth to him at home March 13, 1931 in Erie, Pennsylvania with his father, Walter K, at her side. Walter proudly served our country in the Korean War as a Medic on a Tin Can Destroyer. While in the Navy he studied dancing at Arthur Murray studios and became an instructor himself.  Soon after being discharged, he entered college, graduated at the top of his class and began his 42 year career as a Funeral Director and Embalmer.  Walter found his job fulfilling and managed to be professionally but very caring.  Walter also enjoyed working with wood, fishing, camping and hiking in the mountains. Walter was united in marriage to Ta Juana and was blessed by a son, Keith in 1958. Ta Juana died of MS while Keith was still a toddler.  Later, Walter met Jeanie Clinton at Melrose Abbey Cemetery in Anaheim, California and after an intriguing courtship they were married on March 22.  Walter and Jeanie celebrated 40 incredible years together. Walter is survived by his son, Keith W. Kuhne and wife Lynne, four nephews, Gary, Mark, Jim and Dave as well as two nieces, Debbie and Valerie; numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews who loved their uncle Wally.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William (Bill) Kuhne. Funeral services for Walter will be 9:30 A.M. Thursday, October 6, 2016 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark with Pastor Rodney McCann officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Alzheimer at www.alz.org. On line condolences may be shared at www.barnesfamilyfunerals.com
