Richard “Dick” Wrast, age 69, of Fremont Hills, MO passed away Monday, May 8, 2017.  Dick was born on August 3, 1947, the son of Shirley (Hicks) and Jesuel “Chizzie” Wrast.  Dick is survived by his wife of 39 years, Roxy, their two children, Jenny Wrast Oakley (husband, Christopher), and Jon Wrast (wife, Whitney) and his mother, Shirley Wrast.   Dick was preceded in death by his father, Chizzie Wrast and brother, James Wrast. Dick grew up in Libertyville Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, where he spent his first 18 years.  He studied at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and the University of Colorado Boulder.  Dick met Roxy in 1975 in Evergreen Colorado and they married on April 29, 1978 in Denver.  He worked as a development engineer at Gates Rubber Company, Denver CO and Dayco Products, Springfield MO.  He retired as a salesman from Carlisle Power Transmission in 2007.  Dick was a member of Fremont Hills Country Club since 1978, serving as vice president and chairman of the long-range planning committee working on the transition from a 9 to 18 hole course. Dick was a man of humor and love, and will remain forever in the lives of those who had the good fortune to be close to him.  He had many wonderful friends, especially his two closest buddies, Bob Wills and Bill Sloan who were important to him throughout his life.  He loved being around people, telling a joke or sharing his passion for the intricate model work that consumed his idle time, especially in retirement.  His attention to detail and precision was world class.  His greatest accomplishment and pride of his life are his two children.  He was a gracious provider, and father.  He was an open wheel racecar fan and sports car enthusiast owning and restoring many throughout the years. Dick’s final contribution to the community was as a tissue donor.  We ask that you celebrate his life as we will, and not mourn his leaving.  His family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice. Memorial funeral services for Dick will be 7:00 P.M. Friday, May 12, 2017 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. Friday until service time in the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at
